Overview

Promoting a cleaner, healthier, and more responsible society is not only a social and moral duty but also a religious obligation. Through Cleanliness and Awareness Campaigns, communities, schools, and public institutions are engaged to emphasize the importance of hygiene, sanitation, and proper waste management.

As the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Cleanliness is half of faith.” (Sahih Muslim) Inspired by this teaching, we strive to foster a culture where cleanliness is embraced as a shared responsibility — essential for the well-being of our environment, our communities, and public health.

TARS Foundation is currently running the following two initiatives under this campaign:
1. Counseling of Drug Addicts
2. Cleanliness Awareness in the Slums of Peshawar

Cleanliness & Awareness Campaigns

1. Counseling of Drug Addicts: At the Government Drug Rehabilitation Center in Peshawar, free treatment is provided to individuals struggling with drug addiction. In collaboration with the institution, TARS Foundation conducts monthly counseling sessions to support patients in their recovery journey. Our motivational speaker, Mr. Wajahat Ali Shah, guides patients on practical ways to overcome addiction, adopt a healthier lifestyle, and deal with personal and social challenges. These sessions also include various physical and interactive activities that help improve both mental and physical well-being. Over time, these counseling efforts have produced highly encouraging results, with patients consistently sharing positive feedback and expressing renewed hope and determination to lead a drug-free life.

2. Cleanliness Awareness in the Slums of Peshawar: In the slum areas of Peshawar, where TARS Foundation regularly distributes cooked food to underprivileged families living in makeshift huts, cleanliness awareness sessions are also organized from time to time. During these sessions, our dedicated volunteers educate families about the importance of personal hygiene and environmental cleanliness. Hygiene kits, containing essential sanitary items, are also distributed among these families to help them practice healthy daily habits. The purpose of these initiatives is to uplift the living conditions of marginalized communities by encouraging cleanliness, disease prevention, and self-care. Through these efforts, we aim to empower underprivileged families to live healthier lives and contribute to building a cleaner, safer, and more compassionate society.
